Hot Water Heating Cylinder Jacket UK

Hot water is used for bathing, washing and all manner of other uses. Using water this way uses energy and keeping your water hot costs money. Many home owners do not realise that considerable savings can be made, and it al starts with the cylinder.

What do I Need? 

In older UK housing stock it is more likely to encounter older hot water installations and heating systems, there are 2 options to improve the control over your home hot water requirements.

  • Fit a cylinder insulating jacket

  • Fit a cylinder thermostat to regulate the water temperature

The insulation for cylinders comes in a range of thickness and sizes, if you can fit a jacket of at least 75mm in thickness to conserve your home hot water.

Hot Water Jackets

An EPC provides a rating for your home in its present condition and also a rating for its potential if certain energy saving improvements are undertaken. There are several improvements that can be made to any home, particularly for older UK housing stock. Even new build houses can be improved to reduce energy consumption, reduce heat losses around the house, and, consequently reduce the environmental carbon footprint by reducing carbon emissions. For your home hot water heating system ensure that the cylinder has a jacket with a minimum thickness of 75mm to minimise heat loss to the air in the airing cupboard, or wherever it is located.
