Some
say the introduction of Home information packs may cause a fall in
house prices, but realistically is this possible. How can a seller
say that for a few hundred pounds on a home pack their house will
lose thousands in the process.
The seller
may make a complaint but you've got to pay legal fees somewhere down
the line. That's what property solicitors and conveyancers are for,
and yes we must pay them for what basically is a home pack anyway.
But, if you are moving house you won't have to pay for a HIP as you
are the buyer! Everything's even.
If you
get an HCR home condition report as a buyer, note the defects, you
could use this as a bargaining tool if considering an offer.
