Energy Assessors |

Buildings
energy assessment for commercial use, and industrial property will
require inspection by a commercial energy assessor. The main sectors
of the property market requiring inspection of buildings for energy
usage and the determination of energy ratings can be grouped into
the following areas.

New Build commercial units - SAP/SBEM Assessors
can be used to assess energy ratings and carbon index values by
submitting site plans to the assessor.

New
Build Homes - If you are a property developer or builder of New
Houses then authorised SAP Assessors can be instructed to
calculate energy values for new build housing projects.

Existing Commercial
& Industrial property can only be assessed using an accredited
energy assessor who has been certified as a
"competent" person under the National Occupation
Standards.

Existing Public
Buildings & Institutions under Local Authority control can
only be assessed using an accredited energy assessor who has
been certified as a "competent" person under the
National Occupation Standards.

If the
building is served by an air conditioning system then this must be
inspected by an accredited energy assessor who has been certified as
a "competent" person under the National Occupation
Standards.
Air
Conditioning Inspection - Commercial Buildings will require
regular inspection of heating & ventilating systems including
boilers, chillers and controls.

owner/occupiers of public buildings, if you are still not sure whether you
