These inspections and subsequent surveys can only be carried out by suitably qualified Air Conditioning Energy Assessors

It is likely that existing registered domestic energy inspectors will adopt re-training to encompass energy assessment of air conditioning systems and commercial heating & cooling systems. Corporate and SME business premises together with large public buildings are likely to have such systems installed.

Existing HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) Systems employed in industrial applications will also require inspection under the new regulations.

Specialist training centres will soon be providing courses for energy assessors to undertake additional training for these types of systems. The inspection is required as part of the process of issuing a Commercial EPC for buildings employing air conditioning systems which will require energy assessment by an Air Conditioning Inspector.
